Trench Plate Rental Company has acquired Trench Shoring Services, a multi-state provider of trench safety equipment rentals and sales.

Trench Shoring Services has 13 branch locations across Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Pennsylvania. The company was founded by the late Dennis Spencer, a heavy civil engineering contractor working throughout the Rocky Mountains. His firm developed and built its own shoring systems, eventually leading to the establishment of Trench Shoring Services in 1993.  Today, it designs and manufactures a variety of trench safety equipment, including the ultraShore lightweight aluminum trench box product line.

With the addition of Trench Shoring Services, Trench Plate Rental now serves more than 9,000 contractors through its network of 34 trench safety branch locations in the U.S. The company also offers traffic control equipment rental through TPR Traffic Solutions, with branch locations in California and Nevada.

Keith Lamberson, former CEO of Trench Shoring Services, will join Trench Plate Rental’s senior management team, says Phil Mason,  president and CEO.

Combining forces with Trench Shoring Services is “an excellent opportunity to extend our reach and continue our leadership in the trench safety industry,” says Graeme Gilfillan, Trench Plate Rental chairman.
