New Engcon cable bucket allows large excavators to do more

Bucket for Excavators

With the aim of continuing to expand the capabilities of larger excavators when equipped a tiltrotator, Engcon has introduced a new cable bucket for these machines in the 30-34 ton range (27-31 tonne).

The company says that, when paired with a tiltrotator, the new CB29 cable bucket can eliminate the need for smaller excavators on a jobsite, allowing larger excavators to perform tasks such as grading, cable excavation and more.

“We know that customers do not always want to pay the shipping and hours required to rent multiple machines. Perhaps they primarily need a bigger machine for a larger construction project or roadwork. But they may have a brief need for smaller equipment,” says John Lundqvist, product developer at Engcon.

The bucket is built and reinforced with high-strength steel and can be fitted with a top bracket to fit any hitch system. It comes with Engcon S70, S80 and S2 brackets standard.

”We do not think this concept will replace the 15-20 metric tonne class (16.5-22 ton) service machines, which are often wheeled excavators, since they are so flexible,” Lundqvist says. “But our customers see CB29 as a good complement to use when an opportunity arises.”
