Kobelco Construction Machinery USA is launching its SK130LC-11 excavator to the North American market, the first model in the company’s new Generation 11 line.
The SK130LC-11 has a digging force of 24,818 pounds and is equipped with independent travel, which allows the machine to move, lift and swing simultaneously without experiencing loss of power. The machine’s automatic swing priority delivers full swing power during combined operations without switching modes.
A 96-horsepower Tier 4 Final engine uses a selective catalytic reduction system with diesel particulate filters, decreasing NOx emissions and providing low operation costs, says the company. A double-element air cleaner keeps the engines running clean while a pre-filter with a built-in water-separator provides filtering performance to ensure stable operation.
The SK130LC-11 features an attachment selection system with adjustable flow-rate presets for the bucket, breaker, nibbler and thumb. This allows the operator to change tools quickly and easily. Mode settings for other attachments, such as a tiltrotator, can be easily added or changed.

The machine comes standard with an ergonomic lever and Grammer air ride suspension seat to reduce operating force and fatigue. Additional cab features include an optimized control layout with a new jog dial and 10-inch color monitor. An unfastened-seatbelt indicator, and built-in rear, left- and right-side cameras with a customizable split-screen display enhance operator awareness and jobsite safety.
Remote diagnostic and preventive maintenance systems use the latest innovations to improve operating product lifecycle costs, says Kobelco. Access to maintenance data from the operation management system improves ease of maintenance scheduling. The company says operators can expect extended service intervals on engine oil, hydraulic oil, filter changes and greasing.
