Chevy unveils 2020 Silverado HD High Country, details new trim levels

Following the unveiling of the all-new design of the 2020 Silverado HD, Chevrolet has announced that the next generation of 2500 and 3500 trucks will be available with five trim levels:

  • Work Truck
  • Custom
  • LT
  • LTZ
  • High Country

Chevy says that each trim level features its own distinct design, with varying features and technology. Depending on the trim you select, you’ll be getting one of a few different grilles, a mix of black, body color, chrome, or the two-tone metallic trim that will be exclusive to High Country models.

Those that balked at the new design of this truck may find some relief in the High Country trim, which Chevy has released photos of along with this announcement. The High Country not only brings quite a bit of chrome, but also has a more traditional grille design that eschews the stamped “CHEVROLET” center beam seen on the initial photos of the truck, for the Bowtie logo.

“Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” says Mike Simcoe, GM’s vice president of global design. “That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels.”

“We took into account every detail of what customers expect, and how they will use their truck,” adds Simcoe. “The results are unique versions of the Silverado HD equally at home working on a construction site or pulling a camping trailer.”
